Wireless Cellular Security Monitoring

Wireless Cellular Security Monitoring

Wireless cellular monitoring has become a very popular form of security monitoring thanks to its versatility.  One of the largest benefits is that you don’t have to have a land line to have a security alarm system to protect your home, business, and property.

How It Works
Cellular signal is a form of radio transmission. Your system can talk to the central monitoring station by means of a specially designed module, which is built into the system. Thanks to that module, your system can communicate using the cell towers, just as your phone does.

Every time your security alarm is checked, it sends a digital signal to the monitoring station.  Unlike you cell phone that transmits its signal through the voice portion of the connection, the alarm signal is submitted through the data portion. Your wireless security alarm transmits the time and date, type of emergency, your location, name, and phone number to the central monitoring station.

The Advantages
When you need help, you want it as soon as possible.  Cellular communication is the quickest way to send out an SOS.  There is no time to worry about phone or electrical lines working to get your signal through, and because it’s cellular, you won’t have to.
Many benefits include:

  • No worries about a cut phone line
  • Faster message transmission than a land line phone
  • Phone lines can be down and you’ll still be protected
  • Can be less expensive than other forms of communication
There is only one drawback of cellular monitoring: power.  If your power is off, so then will be your monitoring.  However, a long-life battery makes electricity a non-issue.
